Who do you represent?
Currently, clients range from 6-74. Diversity in all its forms is important, so we keenly represent actors who are keen, trained or experienced with a positive outlook and professionalism.
Do I need to be on Spotlight?
As the premier casting platform, it is essential that you are on Spotlight. As an approved agent, we can arrange this for young performers, but all actors over the age of 18 must already have a Spotlight profile.
Would you submit me for everything?
Whilst very much believing in saying yes to every opportunity, we personalise submissions according to your aims. For new graduates, we would encourage you to explore every area and not restrict yourself to any genre.
How do I apply?
Our books are closed for the foreseeable future, but if you have gone through our website and feel that you have extra skills, or have a completely different look to anyone on the books, please send your Spotlight link and a note sharing what interests you about the agency addressed to Glynis via the Contact page.
What happens next?
We receive a tremendous amount of applications, but I will reply when I can. If I wish to see you, I will reply with details inviting you to audition.
Why do you audition everyone for consideration?
It helps me represent you more authentically. I can share with Casting Directors how you are in the room, for instance. If I redirect you and you take on notes and adapt your piece, that shows me how flexible and open you are. I also absolutely love the performing arts, so I welcome inviting theatre into my office space.
You are based in Scotland? Do I have to come to Scotland to audition?
Most auditions take place over Zoom, so you can be based anywhere.
Must I be based in Scotland to be considered?
Not at all. We have clients based all over the UK from London to Cornwall, and even in The Netherlands and Romania.
How do you communicate as I never heard from my last agent?
I hear this a lot, which is why I notify every client of every submission when possible. I advise when I have sent a self tape, and I advise when I receive a notification that the self tape has been downloaded. I am a big fan of WhatsApp and regularly voice note clients. You may also email me at any time. If you wish to call and I cannot answer, I will send a message and call back as soon as I can.
I also have an agency WhatsApp group that is part business and part personal. I share direct approach castings; wish clients happy birthday; welcome new clients to the group, etc. It is active and happy and helps everyone feel connected to the agency.
Are you a sole agency?
We are indeed a sole agency for acting, but you may also have a voiceover, stunt, or modelling agent.
What are the terms of engagement if signed?
You will receive a Client Agreement to sign and a registration form. Once signed, you can add us on Spotlight when I will get to work for you. There is no notice period.
What are your commission rates?
We like to keep it simple around here; therefore all acting work is 10% be it theatre; corporate; television, or screen, with the industry standard 20% for commercials. Commission is not applied on recalls.
Do you take commission on work I find myself?
If you would like me to deal with the contract, then yes; otherwise no unless you are going to be in work for two weeks or more. I request commission on work over 2 weeks as it means that I can not put you forward for any work during that time unless it is low paid or profit share. I do not ask for commission on any form of profit share, or any of your own work that you create yourself, and I am supportive of this in every way.
